Turning Back Looking at My Times with MPYO

I've grown with MPYO for two years. Two years may be short but it meant a lot to me...

I've learnt a lot in playing the viola.

I've learnt a lot about orchestras and the musical instruments.

(Left: Violin, Right: Viola)

I've learnt and seen more people.

I've found more friends.

I've had great moments playing in a professional orchestra and spending time with my dearest friends.

I've learnt to be more independent.

I've also shed tears...for i'm going to leave those precious moments only as memories...

#####

August 2006 - When we first stepped into the Hall. When we first met everyone we know today.

......and many weekend rehearsals from August to December 2006......we met up for 2 days each time, we rehearsed, bad farewell, and knew we'd meet again 4 weeks later.

March 2007 - Our first camp in Universiti Teknologi Petronas, Tronoh, Perak. (And also our lousiest rooms in our camps so far >.< )

25 August 2007 - Inaugural Gala Concert. Saturday Night. Rimsky-Korsakoff's Scheharazade. Saint-Saens' Danse Bacchanale. Schubert's Unfinished Symphony. Wonderful night. Marvelous concert.

1 - 16 December 2008 - Second national tour. Went to East Malaysia. Berlioz's Roman Carnival. Tchaikovshy's Symphony No. 2. Dvorak's Cello Concerto. And many more great masterpieces by great composers of the world.

(My Boarding Passes to Kuching and Kota Kinabalu) ;)

We rehearsed together, went through thick and thin, and proudly showed to world that we, are musicians, and we can do it like any other professional youth orchestras!

9 December 2008 - I bade farewell to the prestigeous Dewan Filharmonik Petronas. It was the last time i sat on that chair, under that roof, in that hall, in that building, performing in my last MPYO concert. I had to move on - still, i had 4 more concerts in East Malaysia.

~ Really had lotsa fun with my friends... One the day we arrived in Kuching, we went for a dinner where there were karaoke facilities. Duncan and Dylan sang and we laughed through the night. Kevin, our conductor, Audrey, our admin, and Poh Kim, Poh Joo's (our soloist) sister and also MPO violinist, owed us a karaoke singing session each....(till now). Apparently, they politely declined the invitation and promised that they would sing if we put off great perfomances in East Malaysia. (Of course, they broke their promises...boohoo!!) XD

15 December 2008 - My Very Last Concert with MPYO. Kota Kinabalu. Tears streamed down my cheeks (literally) when we played a Sabahan piece (of which its name slipped from my mind) as an encore. It is all over. But i still have a path laid in front of me...i must be able to let it go, and do what is right...for my future. However, unequivocally, those golden, precious moments i spent with the orchestra, its members and my friends will forever be one of my greatest treasure that i'll never ever forget.
